Job Description
The Controls Technician will be responsible for installation, testing, analyzing, maintaining, repairing and training on Bosch packaging equipment and associated products at customer sites. They will provide customers with excellent technical customer service and ensure complete satisfaction. This position has a direct and significant impact on maintaining our customer base as well as growing new business for Bosch Packaging Services.Additional responsibilities include:
+ Working in tight quarters; on top and underneath equipment.
+ Standing, stooping, kneeling and bending continuously (approx. 66% of the time).
+ Lifting 50 lbs on a regular basis
+ Maintaining a flexible schedule which allows for travel on short notice.
+ Traveling extensively in North America as well as worldwide which requires a valid passport when needed.
+ Will travel approximately 90% of the time.
+ Residing within 1.5 hours of a major metropolitan airport is necessary in order to perform the duties of this job and to adequately service a specific customer base.
+ Submitting to safety, background, and drug/alcohol testing as required by customer..
+ Must possess a 4-Year degree in Electrical Engineering.
+ Must have a minimum 5+ years of electrical/controls original hardware, software design and commissioning experience.
+ Must possess a minimum of 2+ years of experience working with the principles of mechanics, pneumatics, electrical, PLC control systems integration and PC based HMI integration with continuous motion equipment.
+ A minimum of 1+ years of experience with each of the following is required:
+ Allen Bradley PC, PLC programming and networking systems.
+ Redlining of electrical hardware designs
+ Using the application of PLC control systems, servo motion control systems, servo drive setup and tuning, HMI, and safety systems.
+ Working with power distribution, electro-mechanical power control (contacts, starters, relays), electrical noise control through panel wiring design, heat dissipation calculations and control for electrical panels for machine control.
+ Electrical Design ? PLC/PAC, Servo, HMI, Networks, single and three phase power, EMC compliance, UL
+ PLC ? Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff, other PC?s
+ Industrial networks ? DeviceNet , EtherNet IP, CIP, AS-i, TCP/IP, Ethernet Powerlink, Modbus, Modbus/TCP, Profibus, Controlnet
+ HMI ? Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Wonderware Intouch / FactorySuite; TCP QuickPanel; Cimplicity
+ Motion Control - Servo & Stepper ? Rockwell, Electrocraft,Applied Motion Products
+ Machine Safety systems - Programmable and Traditional- including safety risk assessment documentation
+ Analog and digital I/O, encoders.
+ Programming Languages:PLC (LDD, ST, SFC, FBD), Motion control (ControlLogix integrated motion.
+ Experience in Visual C, C++, C#, SQL client/server, Visual BASIC
+ Prior work experience in repair / maintenance of capital equipment or electronics, such as servo drives, HMI's and programmable controllers.
+ Ideal candidate will have prior work experience with Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, or Beckhoff as a technician or help desk associate.
+ Extensive experience with documentation of continued education in controls subject matter
+ Good understanding of application of industry standards (NEC, NFPA, JIC, IEC, CE, OSHA, ect.)
+ Sufficient interpersonal skills to create cooperative relations with other departments and customer?s personnel.
